Committees

SEC-PGHCA committees work to address diverse community needs, from event planning to conflict resolution and intergenerational engagement.

  • Ambassadors & Volunteers Committee

    Responsible for recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention of Ambassadors.

  • Principal Office Committee

    Responsible for the identification, development, and operational readiness of the Association’s principal office or headquarters.

  • Communications CommitteeManages all SEC-PGHCA communications, updates, and outreach to keep members informed.

  • Events & Recreations Committee

    Responsible for planning and execution of Association-approved events and activities.

  • Senior & Disabled Residents Readiness CommitteeResponsible for identification and support coordination for senior and disabled residents.

  • Bereavement & Benevolence Committee

    Responsible for compassionate support and benevolence efforts for individuals and families.

  • Conflict Resolution Committee

    Responsible for individual, and group conflict de-escalation and referral support. This Committee shall not provide legal advice.

  • Community Gardens & Orchards CommitteeResponsible for gardening, cultivation, and environmental education initiatives.

  • Architectural & Aesthetics Committee

    Responsible for neighborhood appearance, structural preservation, and built-environment initiatives. This Committee shall serve as lead for housing-business related improvement programs unless otherwise directed.

  • Neighborhood Sustainment Collective Committee

    Responsible for sustainability, stabilization, neighborhood history documentation and recognition, oral written and video documentation, Ready, Restoration, and Resiliency, community history tours, and environmental stewardship initiatives.

  • Farmers & Crafts Market Committee

    Responsible for educational market-based activities, vendor coordination, and community commerce opportunities.

  • Youth, Young Adult, & Adult Engagement & Exposure Committee

    Responsible for engagement, leadership development, and exposure initiatives.

  • Academic Scholarship Committee

    Responsible for administration of academic scholarship opportunities.

  • Athletic Scholarship Committee

    Responsible for administration of athletic scholarship opportunities.

  • Fund Raising Committee

    Responsible for fundraising strategy, campaigns, and resource development.

  • P.O.W.E.R. Committee

    Responsible for grants searching and support initiatives for causes, programing, and charity to service area individuals and families in need.

  • Community Housing Development Organizing Committee (CHDO)

    Responsible for organizing and preparing the Association for housing development and related activities.

  • Community Business Development Organizing Committee (CBDO)

    Responsible for organizing and preparing the Association for business and economic incubator and development activities.

  • Community Land Trust & Banking Organizing Committee (CLT&B)

    Responsible for organizing and preparing land stewardship, land-holding structures, and long-term community control strategies.
